Morning Car Line Procedure (K-8)

Please follow this procedure and the directions of our staff in the parking lot:​

• Please enter the lower parking lot near the Gym Entrance and form a single file line to the cones - Parking lot opens at 7:45 am

• The first car should pull up to the STUDENT CROSSING sign and stop

• The cars following should pull up close to the car preceding it

• When all the cars come to a complete stop, your child should exit from the passenger side, quickly and carefully

• Children should walk on the passenger side once they exit the car

• Teachers/Staff will be there to assist the students

• If your child cannot leave the car independently, park in the parking lot beyond the STUDENT CROSSING sign

• Walk your child to the sign and wait for directions from Mr. Mike to cross

• NO ONE should be crossing between the cars or in the pathway that the cars take

• Car line is closed at 8:05 am

• All arrivals after 8:05 am should enter through the Office at the Main Entrance of the building

• If you are dropping off later, please make both your teacher and school secretary (schoolsec@saintaloysius.net) are aware via an email

Afternoon Car Line Procedure (PreSchool-8) 
 

We will dismiss over 150 students in Car Line on a daily basis. Cooperation is needed from students, parents and guardians. This includes updating PickUp Patrol before the cut-off time. If your child is not on the Car Rider list, you will need to pull to the side and wait so the car line can continue. We will continue to monitor these procedures, especially during the first few weeks, to work out the kinks and ensure the safety of all. 

 

1. Please adhere to the following Car Lot times: 

   1. 2:25 pm- Lot opens for vehicles picking up PK3 and PK4 students only (no K-8 siblings).

   2. 2:40 pm- Vehicles in PK lanes 1 and 2 PK begin exiting the lot.

   3. 2:55 pm- Lot opens for regular dismissal (K-8 students with PK siblings).

2. Parents and Guardians should not arrive before the dismissal time. The gate will remain closed.   

3. Walkers will be dismissed as a group and will exit by the gate near the gym. Parents that meet walkers should remain on the steps and should not approach the building. All dogs should be leashed. 

4. Our staff will be using the ZipLane app on their devices during dismissal to communicate between the parking lot and the holding zone. To help make the dismissal process as safe and efficient as possible, please be sure to clearly display your family name on your dashboard or on a placard hanging from your rearview mirror. This will allow our staff to quickly identify and queue your family for pickup.

5. We will be using the Gym as a holding zone for students waiting to be dismissed as walkers, car riders, CARES and after school clubs. Students will be seated by grade before afternoon announcements begin. Students should remain silent after announcements.

6. After the gate opens, cars on Mulberry may approach and enter by turning right into the lot. It is extremely important that parents/guardians make every attempt to approach in this direction. Avoid turning left onto Mulberry from Keim Street. These cars will not be allowed to turn left into the lot. This causes traffic jams and delays, especially when cars begin exiting the lot.

7. Follow the directions of the staff in the parking lot. Vehicles will no longer wrap around the lot. Instead, cars will be parked in straight lines facing Mulberry Street.

8. Once the lot is full, the entrance gate will be closed. It will reopen when more space becomes available. 

9. Students will be dismissed outside in the order that they were called on the app.

10. Once outside, the staff will assist students with vehicles. Parents/Guardians of K-8 students are not permitted to approach the building and should remain in their vehicles.

11. There are no right turns out of the lot. All vehicles exiting the lot must turn left. 

12.  Please be courteous of our neighbors and avoid driving down Price Street where there is street parking. The increased traffic flow causes major jams for residents. 

13. Parents and Guardians are not permitted to park off campus and walk to the lot. Students will only be called and dismissed to those in vehicles. 

14. When the lot closes, students will need to be picked up at the main office. If parents/guardians are habitually late, students will be sent to CARES to be picked up and additional fees may be assessed through FACTS.
